Today an estimated 1.6 million Canadians are living with heart disease or the effects of a stroke and another 3 million are living with diabetes. As chronic disease prevalence increases with age, the coming “grey wave” of seniors is expected to place an increasing strain our health care system. Prevention has never been more important.
